July 4th

What a day...
Liz, Harlan, Christopher, Sammy, Miley, Jackson, Mom and Dad and I, started the day with pancakes.
We then attended the dedication for the Plainfield service memorial.
Followed by the Parade of the town of Plainfield. It was a small town parade, with all home made floats and locals marching. Great uncle Abe was the grand marshal. Mom marched as part of the 'bone builders' group.
Jackson and Christopher especially enjoyed the candy thrown by all the marchers. The oddest thing thrown was milk, yep I said milk. It was delicious.
All 4 kids had matching outfits, provided by Nana.
After the parade we went back to Nana and Gpa Mike's house for the family reunion. I got to see lots of family that I don't know....and it was great to see the family that I do remember.

Liz and Harlan left after the reunion to go to Boston to celebrate their 9th anniversary. I kept all 4 kids in my room for the night. I don't think I would have been able to get them to sleep without Amanda. What a blessing she was!

Saturday we returned to the Children's museum. We took a train ride first, then played...you will notice that Jackson and Miley are wearing bathing suits this time. We stopped at the local ice cream shop on the way home. Then we ate steak, shrimp and lobster for dinner. I was stuffed.

Nana and I had a great time too. It is a special blessing to see Jackson and Miley and Christopher and Sammy playing together and enjoying each other's company.

I hope that Jackson and I will have better luck fishing next time he comes to visit. I think he had more fun wading in the pond with Christopher than he did waiting for the fish to bite!
